What they provide – There are three Police Crisis Intervention Specialists (PCIS) staffed at the advocacy center on a full-time basis. They provide valuable support to the victims of violent crimes. They work closely with Investigators, nurses, DCS, and the victims to provide critical support. Their responsibilities include victim advocacy and crisis intervention, transportation, resource guidance and referral. They are involved with many investigations from the beginning and also handle follow up on cases involving special victims and people in need of mental health services.
At Continuum we provide services in the home, school, clinic and community settings. We work with a variety of individuals, of all ages, with learning differences and behavior related disorders.
A licensed psychologist and nationally certified school psychologist who provides therapy and psychological evaluation services for children and adolescents, as well as adults with developmental disabilities, with various needs including depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, and intellectual disability. She also provides public and school trainings and consultations, with expertise in the areas of self-harm, suicide prevention, crisis response, and grief and loss.
Eva Dwight, MEd, CPDT, facilitates Positive Discipline workshops for parents who would like to improve or enhance their relationships with their children. Positive Discipline is a research-supported program that provides parents with tools for helping their children become respectful, responsible, and resilient. Eva also offers Positive Discipline in the Classroom training for teachers. This trauma-informed curriculum helps educators teach students important social-emotional skills, including self-awareness, emotional regulation, cooperation, leadership and so much more! Additionally, Eva is a Master Trainer and Program Director for the Gurian Institute, offering training for parents and educators about how gender brain differences impact boys’ and girls’ learning needs, socialization patterns and emotional processing.
